oilawakensite twitted the first picture to hwangbo five hours ago and said "always beside you. beautiful pictures you always. good night~^^~", to which hwangbo replied "ㅋㅋ long time no see".

oilawakensite should be awakensite's staff who came close to hwangbo during her first fanmeeting in bangkok last 4 september 2010.

i think hwangbo was visiting a night market in the first picture. the second pictures was posted three days. credit the photos to oilawakensite at twitter.

reporter: Welcome Hwangbo to Thailand
Hwangbo: Thank you
reporter: I’m Michael from Awakenlife TV
Hwangbo: Michael? Michael.

reporter: How is it coming to Thailand?
Hwangbo:  I came here before, 10 years ago. Thailand is the first country I visited. I had great memories    here. So, I feel very happy to come back here again.

reporter: How do you feel when you knew that there were a lot of fans here who went to welcome you at the airport at 1:30am last night?
Hwangbo: There are a lot of Thai fans who always leave comments in my twitter and webpage. But my English is not that great. When I read the comment one by one expressing their love to me, I realize that they are from Thailand. I’m very happy to know that I have fans here.

reporter: Were you surprised to see that many fans at the airport last night?
Hwangbo: I was really surprised because I got here very late at night, 1:30am. I thought there would be no one coming. Then, I saw a lot of people waiting. I was surprised that those people actually were waiting for me. Another surprise was that there were many of them. I’ve never imagined that.

reporter: Today, you get to come to the orphanage house. Personally, you also like to do charity work. Why?
Hwangbo: First of all, I have to tell you. I love kids and like to go visit those kids with my friends. However, I’m very busy. So, finding the time to go is very difficult. And whenever I go, there will be fans following me around (the report agreed: yes, yes, look at the followers today.)  So, I feel bad for the kids. However, I think I don’t do it to earn the good image. After a couple more times, I started to have fun spending time with the kids.

Love Scene B3
please click here for the video.

reporter: How do you feel about getting to do charity work with the fans? And about the fans want to do charity work because of you since you are their idol?
Hwangbo: I’m very happy. I actually knew about this before since some fans had posted in my webpage that they will also do charity work because of me and I inspired them. When I heard that, I feel like I get to do the charity work myself. I feel very happy and want to encourage my fans to keep doing so.

reporter: Great!! Collaborating with each other doing a good deed. So, what kinds of activities you have done with the kids today?
Hwangbo: It’s quite different from the visits in Korea. Over there, I have a lot of time to spend with the kids, having lunch together, or playing games. But today, there is very limited time. I couldn’t sit down having lunch with them or play games. When I provided rice or scooped ice cream for them, I was also afraid that the kids would feel bad that they didn’t get the equal amount, especially ice cream. The ice cream was so hard and it’s not easy to scoop. But I really wanted them all to get the same amount. So, I felt very sorry. And I wanted them to eat until they were so full. Although they don’t know who Hwangbo is, I really want them to be happy.

reporter: I think they are very happy. At last, do you have anything to say to your fans?
Hwangbo: The reason I am here is all my Thai fans. I’m very happy to be here again. Although we are under the same sky, we are a little far apart. But it only takes a couple hours flying here. If I have a chance, I would like to come again. And I would like to repay to my Thai fans by working very hard and will find time to do charity events so that the fans can do the same. And please give Hwangbo lots of love.

reporter: Thank you very much for your time today. Thank you.
Hwangbo: Thank you very much.

Hwangbo: We are here in Thailand. We are quite tired, not only me but also the staff and the fans. Thank you all very much. I miss you every second. I feel very good since the first day I arrived. Thai fans are very nice and gave me many presents. There were many fans coming. I’m sorry that I couldn’t receive the presents from everyone. Today I feel very comfortable. There were also many interviews today. The translator is very good and helped me communicate very well with my fans. I feel bad for the staff who had to work very hard but got to eat only lunchbox. At last, I got to Thailand now. Will work very hard. Will give all my best from the first day to the last. Kob Khun ka (say thank you in Thai).

[article] 20.09.2010 hwangbo emotionally touched by fans in thailand

credit allkpop especially kimchisteve for this brilliant piece
articles with similar content is posted here.

thanks to mayaaziz for the early alarm

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although she had extreme popularity in the past, singer Hwangbo is definitely one of the many veterans who have been overshadowed by the current idol craze in K-pop. However, she has recently found out about her ongoing popularity overseas, which moved her to tears.

Hwangbo recently visited Thailand in early September for promotions, and was bombarded by fans at the airport. At her fan meeting, she performed her past hit, “Mature“, and was surprised by the international fans, who started to sing along to the lyrics.

Hwangbo stated, “I never even dreamed of the fans memorizing the lyrics, as it’s also in a different language.”

It seems like her popularity is still going strong overseas because MBC’s We Got Married is a huge hit internationally. For those who do not remember, Hwangbo was paired up with Kim Hyun Joong on the first season of the show.

It’s great to see lasting fame for any veteran in the industry, so let’s hope it doesn’t die out anytime soon!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i think her popularity won't die any sooner. she has obama to brodcast on 30th september, drama to air on 4th october and singles are on the work. taiwan, philiphines, malaysia and singapore are working on some fanmeetings too. hwangbo fighting!

[magazine] translation of Q&A in Lisa Magazine

thanks to pokomamy for the translation. love ya! there's total of 11 questions.

i re-post my fav photo ^^

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1: From girl band, Chakra, to solo artist, how much effort do you have to spend?
A: I need to thank my fans. Without them, I wouldn’t be here today. What I need to do is repay their loves. Therefore, What I’ve done is not hard at all. I must try my best so that it’s worth their loves.

2: You won “The Best Dancer Award 2008”. You must love dancing.
A: I love to dance. When I was in grade 9-10, I always practiced dancing with my friends after school. Practicing helped me get the rhythm. Although I like to sing, I also like to dance. Sometimes it depends on the atmosphere. If I am in the fun atmosphere, I want to keep dancing and dancing. If I am in the quiet atmosphere, I would prefer singing. If I have to pick one, it will be very difficult. It’s like asking me to choose to stay with either my father or my mother. I like both and feel like I can’t live with only either one.

3: Most of your hit songs are for dancing except the first album, which is ballad.
A: Personally, I like ballad. Therefore, the first album is really me. When going to karaoke, I only like to sing slow, emotional songs and won’t sing my own songs because I would feel embarrassed. When resting at home, I like to sing ballad because it can better express deep feelings. However, the audience probably prefers dancing song.

4: How about the song that was on UK chart? How special is it for you?
A: “R2Song” is a Korean word mean confused. The lyric of the song talked about a guy friend whom my feeling towards him suddenly changed from friendship to love. It made me confused and surprised whether this feeling was love or something else. When we released this song in the UK, we adjust the single to remix, faster tempo and more lively than the original. We made it suitable for dancing in clubs and thought that British would like it. I feel very impressed because British people don’t know me and I’ve never had a chance to work in the UK. But now they know the name “Hwangbo”, because my song was No. 1 on their chart. When they listen to the song, they will know that I’m from Korea. Making them more aware of Korea and Koreans song makes me very happy.

5: I’ve heard that you are a part of the charity project in Korea.
A: Korea Compassion is the project that helps individual kid by donating a monthly payment of 15,000 won. It’s like adopting them. The kids can use the money to buy food, clothes, or pay for tuition fees. It’s a very good project. Before I joined compassion, I wanted to do charity work but didn’t know how to start. So, when somebody introduced this project to me, I was very interested and also had a chance to write the letters to the kids. I feel like the poor not only needs money, but also love. They need someone by their sides. When I have time, I want to do something for them too.

6: As a sexy superstar, what is your beauty secret?
A: The best way for me is exercising. When I do the shooting or recording, I’m quite photogenic. So, I’m very afraid that when I go outside, fans will think how come Hwangbo doesn’t look like what they have seen on TV or in the pictures. Therefore, when I have time, I will like to go work out.

7: I’ve heard that you have Tae kwan do black belt and are car racer.
A: Yes, I was even in the car racing competition before. However, one time on the track, my car was hit in the back and flipped. It’s pretty serious accident. From then on, I don’t dare to race any more. I still got hurt although I fastened my seat belt. Now I still have the racing outfit at home but am too afraid to race again. I only support my seniors. About Tae Kwan do, I started Tae Kwan do since I was little. At first, it was just for fun. When I had time, I entered in the competition until I won the first place and got the black belt since Chakra Debut. Now, what interests me the most is scooter riding. I bought a scooter and when I have time, I will ride it every day. Also because I am a celebrity, when riding scooter, I have to wear helmet and no one will recognize me. I have a lot of fun.

8: In the same time, you are also a fashionista who has an impact on Korea’s teenagers.
A: I like clothes and fashion. When the new collection comes out, I will be the first to go get it (laugh) and if I have a couple pieces of fabric on hand, I will design and make my own clothes. Also, I wear many styles of clothes. I can look very neat on some days while very sexy on the others. Sometimes, I even look very extreme. This is why people think I can dress. I don’t stick with one style. There are teenagers that follow my styles. I remember one time I trimmed my eyebrows in pattern. Then, the kids also followed that. So, their parents had to ask them not to do so since it’s against the school’s rules. I saw them having fun. I feel thankful that they followed me but it’s not always appropriate to follow my styles.

9: You just celebrated your birthday in August. Having 3 in the front, are you serious about your age?
A: I’m not serious. I actually feel good. Reaching 3, there are people giving me complement that I’m much more beautiful. Before, people look at me like a young girl. I gradually grew up and finally I become a woman. Now, when I look at the girls at the age 20, I feel like they are very young. So, I finally understand how adults felt when they looked at me when I was 20, very naughty and daring (laugh).

10: What impressed you the most for the past 10 years in the entertainment industry?
A: I have learned a lot, for example, when I just started my career in the industry, I thought I have to focus on my work only, couldn’t have a boyfriend or love life. Because I did both at the same time, I wouldn’t be able to succeed in either one. I had to choose only one, which was work. Being like that for 5-6 years, I finally know that I can have both at the same time.

11: What do you have to say for the readers of Lisa, which is the magazine for every woman?
A: I want everyone to think positively every day. What you think it’s not possible will become possible and you will be successful in the future. And also think what you will wear tomorrow because it’s a good thing especially for women. I want women to think about beautiful things. I want everyone to have good health and get more and more beautiful each day. I wish we get to meet again in the future and please give Hwangbo lots of love.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wow, i never know about her car accident. and i like the interviewer, she seems to do some research about hwangbo. go lisa! and i will take note of her answer to question 11. i seldom decide what i need to wear upfront >_< enjoy people!
