[interview] showbiz extra star focus (english subbed)

this was recorded during her promotion for arisong or r2song. a must watch! she talked about her past i.e. chakra, her current activities, her plans for the future, her thought of girl group and the most special, greetings to fans all over the world (she sure knows about her international fan) ^^

she did mention something along the line "although we're apart, we still under the same sky". she also emphasise the wish to personally hug and thanks all her fans. such a sweet gentle lady! me fall in love again ^^

[fanvid] angel hwangbo's story

many of hwangbo supporters (that i know) referring her as an angel. she is very beautiful not outside but within. don't get me wrong ^^ i am not saying she is ugly but the fact that she is pretty from within, she is even beautiful although in her bad hair day. isn't that how you describe an angel?

and that is the very reason why my blog title was "diary of an angel" whilst the address is "hwangbo-angel.blogspot" ^^

"angel hwangbo's story" is a compilation of hwangbo great memories from her debut days until now. it's a very brilliant idea for any new fans to catch up with what she'd been doing all this while and for senior fans to sit back and refresh the good memories.

this was highlighted by hindsight2020 from hwangbo soompi thread. i am not sure if this show is pre-recorded or live. since it is unsubbed i hardly understand contents of the show. with my limited understanding of korean language, i know she did talk about chakra, we got married, compassion and her family. there's also a short clip of her charity activities in bangladesh with compassion, her favourite onnie shin aera-shi and best friend umh jee won-shi.

the 45 minutes show is very good to anybody who want to know her better. i think she was explaining what she had been doing in the past and how those had make the her of today. i hope, sooner or later, the show will be translated and subbed.

hwangbo is the youngest in a family of dad, mom, older brother and herself. she is well-known for her manly personality as she hold third degree black belt in taek-wondo and a car racer license. despite her 'manliness' she is very good in cooking and sewing. she graduated from seoil university and major in theatre and film.

hwangbo debut in 1999 as a rapper member in 'bros' and later formed a 4 members girl group 'chakra'. hwango hold the leader and rapper position. hwangbo had 1 album with bros and 4 albums with chakra. chakra was disbanded in 2004. hwangbo than moves as a solo singer.

hwangbo is very active in mc'ing. she did couples break-up, muhan girls (season1), nodaji, delicious TV, midnight idols (obama), human mentor, etc. She is also participating in various variety and tv shows i.e. x-man, love letter, we got married, idol shows, olive show, tasty road, lets beauty, religious related shows, etc.

acting wise, hwangbo has everything in her resume. from movie to drama to sitcom and musical. movie; emergency act 19 (2002), love of south and north (2003) and goodbye for just a while (2004). drama; the secret lover (2005), can love become money (2012). sitcom; the disco king (2002), what women want (2004), kim and lee (2011) and oh my god (2012). musical; nun sensation (2012).

as a solo singer, hwangbo release her only full album so far in 2007 title 'lady in black'. the album has total of 13 tracks. next she released various single albums and digital tracks. singles; gift for him (2008), r2song (2009). digital; sang sang (2008), words i can't believe (2009), i'm still beautiful (2010).

other than her celebrity-like lifestyle, hwangbo is very passionate about charity activities. she is an active member of compassion, an international organisation that taking care of unfortunate kids around the world. herself has a few adopted kids around the globe. she's singing at charity events, visiting old folks home, visiting refugees, road peace demonstrations, charity auction, distribute charcoals, talks to students, she did all. hwangbo is not someone who brag about her charity-do. most of the time fans only know about her charity events from pictures uploaded by the attendees.

hwangbo ventures into food business as she co-shared with her long time friend and boss, shimty, to open a restaurant on 5 february 2011. the restaurant is called simsontang and located in hongdae. since its opening, many fans frequent the restaurant and visitors can witness partial of the decorations were given by fans.

in 2013, compared to few years back, hwangbo is not very active on screen. she is said pursuing her study in hong kong. this whole year she is going back and forth korea and hongkong for her classes and her duty to mc muhan girls (season 3) and take care of simsontang. she stay connected with her fans through her cyworld 'hwangbolls', twitter @Estella816, facebook '황보 Estella', and instagram 'hwangbonly1'.
